This 39 year old single woman has suffered from severe depression for many years. She has overdosed and done some self cutting. She once heard a voice telling her to kill herself and then overdosed, but did not tell anyone about the voice.
She was raised by a very nasty, punishing mother and a distant father. They are successful people who have supported her financially, but been cold and critical toward her emotionally. At one point a therapist told her mother she should be kinder and that resulted in some change in mother's behavior, but did not bring about a true healing reconciliation between them. The patient remains very angry and resentful toward her parents.
The patient has been functioning at a low level for many years. She finally finished college at a competitive private school, but it took her six years to get a Bachelor's Degree. Now she is unemployed and tends to stay at home all the time.
She contacted me after receiving a shamanic healing from another practitioner. He told her that he found a dark thing, like a plant, growing around her spine, and that he was able to remove it. He balanced her chakras. This work was done at a distance. The patient felt lighter afterward, but uncertain about what was happening and whether the change would last. She felt she had suffered soul loss, and so contacted me about getting a soul retrieval. I found out that she is a Hindu, and so she had many questions about the shamanic procedures, and in particular was not familiar with the idea that demons could affect people. She said there was no concept of such beings in her religion.
I felt a bit uneasy about working with her for that reason. However, in meditation a few days before the session, as I called in my various helping spirits, a new one appeared. She was Kali, the fearsome goddess known to Hindus. She assured me that all would go well. I felt greatly reassured that such a powerful spiritual being had come to help me. I told the patient I had been visited by a Hindu deity, but did not reveal who, and that I felt things would go well for us.
At her session with me, done over a video and audio connection on computers, I was able to place her in a very relaxed, trance-like state. In that state she was able to identify a dark energy in the shape of a jelly bean in the abdomen, which appeared to be like a small dog who had died unhappily. He was sent to the World of Light and the abdomen felt much better.
Then we saw a snake like being behind the heart, a common hiding place for negative energies. This was very frightening to the patient. However, we were able to keep her calm enough to continue. It told us that it had been placed there by the angry, evil feelings of a relative. This was not a conscious curse, but had happened unconsciously. The snake was easy to free and went into the World of Light, grateful for having been liberated from his ensnarement in someone else's issues.
Then when I asked a helping spirit to come and serve as the patient's protector, to keep any other negative energies from coming in, I expected Kali would appear. Who appeared instead was Krishna, so identified by the patient. She was weeping at this discovery, and remembered that her grandmother had spoken of Krishna to her many times and taught her songs to sing to Krishna. She told me she had been asking her grandmother to help her!
Finally, we were visited by Ganesha, the elephant headed god. This I knew meant that the patient was starting a new beginning. She said he was the remover of obstacles.
A week or so later she wrote to me to report the following:
So, I'm doing okay. I have been laughing more. My mind is still dead quiet, except for my own thoughts. For the first time in my memory, my last two periods occurred about four weeks apart. This is really amazing! I've had problems with my ovaries for many years. . . . I felt earlier this week that my reproductive system is healing.
Also, I've done some artwork for the first time in several months. I had a dream the other night about forcing some bad people out of my house, it was the house I lived in when I was in high school, which is about thirty minutes from where I live here in [city name removed for confidentiality reasons]. In the dream, there was a woman wearing a long white dress. She didn't want to leave my house. I told her she had five minutes to leave. She didn't leave. I threw her out.
I had an appointment with my psychiatrist and I told her all about our session. She didn't dismiss it. In fact, she didn't increase my medication since I told her my depression has lifted. I told her all the details of improvement so that she could understand. I agreed to go to a group that she has been encouraging me to attend.
What's next?
I wrote back to schedule another session to help consolidate these wonderful gains, to try to identify the woman in the dress, and to help with her adjustment to feeling lighter and not depressed. She has felt so terrible for so long that she in a sense doesn't know who she is now! This is a good problem to have.
